Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Found this place quite by accident. We are on a road trip and pulled into this plaza and discovered Salvatori's. It was packed!! but it does not take a lot of people to fill this place. We had to wait a few minutes for a table - it was worth the wait. We opted for the smaller sized dinners and it was plenty. The food was well prepared and served piping hot. My only complaint - some of the lettuce in my Caesar Salad showed signs of wilt or maybe touched of frost - and I don't usually see tomatoes on a Caesar salad. There was a wine list available but we did not have any as this was 1:30 in the afternoon and we had many miles left to drive.

Excellent Italian food! Huge portions, good service. Almost passed it by the first time but gave it a chance and was very impressed, have returned twice more when paying through town.

Go to the once out southwest. The food was great as expected. But the service was terrible. The server was slow and completely overwhelmed. I had to ask for a coveted straw for my water which she let me know that the restaurant was out and now she was down to two. I don't give a shit about her straw struggle. I was in between lunch and dinner and my lunch that I was there to eat took well over an hour to get. Thank god I wasn't in a hurry to get anywhere because with her running the dinning room I most certainly would have been late. Would return is she wasn't the waitress.

Ordered the Mamma Leto sandwich and it was AMAZING. If you order a sandwich, you can choose pasta, salad, or a bag of chips as a side item. I chose the pasta and it was great as well. This was my first time here and I was impressed and will definitely be coming back for more.

Wow! This was our first time here and I can tell you, won't be our last. The food is amazing, so fresh and delicious. I had the spaghetti aglio, others at the table had baked penne, the Cannelloni, and baked manicotti. We also had the bruschetta for an appetizer. Everything was the best we have ever had, when I go again I would not get an appetizer. The portions are huge and plenty to bring home or share. Our waitress was Renee she was so happy and nice. If there is a negative thing to say about this place it would be the size and location. It is very small and on a weekend I would suggest a reservation, and it is literally in a truck stop type strip mall. It's a hidden treasure for sure.

We will be returning. Had the Manicotti, she had the baked spaghetti. Service was prompt and pleasant even though they were busy. Food arrived piping hot and was more than enough. Places like Olive Garden could take a lesson form these folks

This place is the bomb! The staff remembers you, the food is always awesome. Potion size is huge! Warning!!! :). Prices are quite reasonable. Hubby and I have been here many times. I'm partial to the pizza, but all the food is great. Hubby likes lasagna and spaghetti with meat sauce. What a great locally owned business!

Yum! Almost missed it beside the Taco Bell and gas station. Thanks, Yelp. Made our road trip much nicer to enjoy a freshly prepared pasta dinner. I will definitely come back on our next trip.

Love love love this place. Always hot and delicious. They really have outgrown the place and need a bigger restaurant. Always so crowded. I usually just get it to go home. But, it very delicious. .

Only been here twice, but its really good. I recommend the cannelloni and breadsticks. I would also recommend calling ahead if you going to eat there, because its really small. Takeout is an option, but not sure if it would be as good. Nice little place, with some delicious food.

Has to be the best Italian Restaurant in Indiana. A simple bowl of spaghetti and meatballs were the best I have ever had. It steamed and streamed during the whole meal. Once on the fork it cools down just enough by the time it hits your mouth. Wonderful! Fabulous! Meatballs taste was not over seasoned and were perfectly seasoned and cooked.

I have been a regular at Salvatori's since it opened. A little background on me is that I grew up outside Chicago and know great Italian food. I can honestly say that I have never had a bad meal there. Among my favorites are the Italian Wedding Soup, the Hot Cabbage Appetizer, the Sausage Basilicata, the Baked Pasta, .... I could go on and on. The service is great even though they are always busy, especially Waitress Mary. If you haven't been there you are missing the best Italian food in Northeast Indiana. It is PHABULOUS.

You can't go wrong with homemade pasta! I get the bruschetta, bosco sticks, and cheese ravioli with meat sauce every time. My parents swear by the spicy cabbage. My brother loves the sausage with rigatoni. Again, amazing spot. The location attached to the gas station is a true hidden gem. But whichever location is closer to you, both will exceed expectations.

Great food, especially for carry out. The location is just really peculiar and the dining room is small, albeit cute. I love the Salvatori Pizza! I am looking forward to tasting more items off the menu.

We went to Salvatori's at their southwest location and were delighted with our lunch! Great service from Kelly also most accommodating for our every need. Food was excellent, fresh ingredients, and very reasonably priced with very generous portions. In fact even my husband took home half of his entree. We continue to come back to this location or the one in New Haven when we want an authentic Italiian meal!

Baked penne pasta with marinara-excellent. Hand-rolled nativity with marinara-excellent. Lasagna-excellent. Fettuccini Alfredo-excellent. Large portion is 4 and a half cups of pasta, so order a small if you're not sharing:) Friendly service.

This Italian restaurant is great! We enjoyed the food beyond our expectations. Our pastor would always talk about this place before he preached, so we decided to check it out and we were impressed. The only thing we were disappointed about, is that's it needs more seating. This place is worth every dollar.

Amazing calzones & the fettuccine alfredo was incredibly rich & creamy! Well worth the trip...

A very surprising find! It's in a gas station, so come on, what could we have possibly expected, right? The decor is dated and it could definitely use a makeover, but the food is phenomenal! We went on sunday and split a hand-rolled manicotti and a large house salad, each of us got a good size potion of 2 manicotti stuffed with ricotta cheese and covered in meat sauce. The flavor of the filling was incredible and the pasta was perfect. I wasn't the biggest fan of the meat sauce, but i would love to try just the marinara. And their house dressing, italian vinaigrette is excellent. Will definitely be back again as soon as im in the area. I know my husband will for lunch since he works just a few miles away :)

We love this place. I mostly go at lunch or off peak hours. It gets pretty busy in the evenings, so if we want some for dinner, we normally just order take out. It is a small place. And yes, it is cleverly hidden in a small strip mall with a gas station. I pretty much always get either the hand-rolled manicotti, the Salvatori Salad, or the Chicken BBQ sandwich. I've tasted other people's good and it is normally good or very good, but I can't get enough of those three things, so that is what I always order! The only things I've tried there that I did not care for was some kind of potato appetizer and some spinach ravioli in a cream sauce. (My husband loved that ravioli, though, so it is personal tastes). Desert is OK.

What a great find! Stopped by for lunch not expecting much. They have a wonderful menu with mostly Italian offerings. Portions were large (the spaghetti on the next table would have fed two, with two snowball size meatballs.) Our pizza was thin crust and perfect. The salad was very good.

You can not go wrong eating here, large portions , they offer half orders on lots of items and we ordered a dish and told them we were splitting and they divided it for us with out requesting it. We started with salad and bread sticks both very good. Then the table orders were spaghetti and meat balls, lasagna, linguine with clam in a butter sauce, and a sandwich, all of which were very good, no complaints. Tom was a excellent server and knew the menu and offered advice.would definitely return. This location is in a strip mall atmosphere connected to a gas station, with seating for 35 or so, deserves much more seating.and they do take reservations.
(4)Scott M.
We have eaten there twice, and both times the food and service were excellent. The location by a gas station seems deceptive; this place is a gem. Had the stuffed pepper special. It was very hot and the green pepper was delightfully firm but not under cooked. The pasta side dish was great but took it home as the main course portion was generous. Waitress was personable and attentive.
(5)James G.
This was first time I tried this restaurant being out of town for work. The pizza and pasta is extremely good. The restaurant with as good as the food is could diffently stand to have a larger area to eat in for customers.
(4)Terry Y.
The food was O.K.I had the nightly special nothing spectacular.I did not like the wait staff cleaning nearby tables where people were eating with a spray bottle. Some of the chemicals in the spray had to become airborne.
(2)Mike S.
This hidden little gem is magnifico! Made from scratch entrees with hefty portions. When we go it's always a challenge to decide to have an old favorite (lasagna!) or try something new. If you've been hesitant to try this place, you've been missing out on some great and authentic Italian food! They also serve up Italian beers to try out. And be sure to try out their cannoli. OMG!
(5)N B.
Great food, great service, great prices! On the weekend, a reservation is a must. You will not be disappointed. Very casual atmosphere (no pajamas, please), deceitfully located beside gas station, truck stop area...mmmm, mmm, tiramasu! You will not be able to eat this-so take one to go!
(5)Amanda J.
Just what we needed on our road trip! We were skeptical because it was attached to a gas station, but it was delicious. The papa Leto sandwich had a delicious sauce, and the cannelloni was very tasty as well. Fast / friendly service was great.

Despite the location adjacent to a truck stop on the far end of New Haven, they have AMAZING from-scratch Italian food. Huge portions at great prices. Hidden gem.
